Born in 1961 (currently 63 years old as of 2024) in Delhi, Vivek Mehra completed his schooling at Lawrence School, Sanawar in Himachal Pradesh. He obtained his BCom degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce at the University of Delhi. Subsequently, he pursued his Chartered Accountancy (CA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Career
From January 1990 to January 1997, Vivek Mehra served as the managing partner at P R Mehra & Co. in Delhi. In January 1997, he transitioned to become a partner at the private firm PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC). During his tenure, he led the M&A Tax practice and was elected as a member of the PwC Governing Board and India’s Tax Leadership Team, contributing until March 2016. In May 2017, he assumed the role of an independent director at Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd. Besides, he holds positions as an independent director in various companies, including Embassy Office Parks Management Services Private Limited, DLF Limited, HT Media Ltd, Hero Future Energies Pvt. Ltd., and Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited.
In 2017, Vivek Mehra took on the role of non-executive chairman at Religare Health Trust. He is also the founder of the private firm Mindshare.
